| A mini weekend update |
Just a short mini-update of the weekend, as I have many e-mails awaiting in my personal and work inboxes that I haven't checked since Saturday... gahhhh....
It's a lovely summer here in Chicago.. oh wait. It's not summer, so why is it a steamy 80-something degrees outside? Instead of picking up my magazines and wine coolers and heading to the beach (as I witnessed many Edgewater-ians do this weekend), +1 and I trekked up to [undisclosed location] to spend a thrifty weekend. We had a "healthy, delicious snack" of pocky sticks and merlot, then headed early in the morning to [undisclosed location].
I hesitate to let you know exactly where we headed because of an amazing find that was made. After downing some tasty smoke hummus and schwarma sandwiches, we stumbled upon a tiny, hidden thrift store where +1 discovered... a Christian Dior men's tench in perfect condition, and a lovely mustardy khaki. +1 just said "oh, look" where as I had a mini panic attack ("Do they know it's out here? Doesn't anyone see this? Should I hide this somewhere else so no one tries it on while i debate whether or not to get it?") and instantly e-mailed S. It was too trendy for +1, but I figured S or her brother jmin might be interested? I regretfully put it back, and am now trying to see when I have time in my schedule to hurry back and purchase it!
Anyways, that was the weekend in a nutshell, other than cleaning the apt and trying out a cute little restaurant in Lincoln Square. A full update with more photos to come!
