Morning, Monday Mavens

This weekend, I finally made the trek out to my parents' house in Chicagoland's western suburbs. Most of the weekend was spent like this:

Bumming on the couch, waiting for my tea to boil....

For some reason, without knowing, I always end up coming home the weekend of homecoming... maybe it's my subconscious telling me a visit home is long overdue?

This weekend was quite the lazy one, as I spent my time (the time not allocated to chauffeuring my little sister and her friends around) bumming on the couch, catching up on reading and thrifting in the neighborhood (I found an ADORABLE blazer, too bad it was 300 times too small for me.. so sad). I did, at one point, go to dinner at a buffet (i was once told that buffets were like the fabric of the Midwest, bringing us all together. [gag] hahahaha). We made our way to Sweet Tomatoes, where I was shocked to learn... my little sister actually eats greens.

10.2.2010 Weekend in a Nutshell

My parents garden had a lovely harvest; their herb garden now overrun by sweet little green tomatoes, plump pumpkins and the like! It was great being at home, and for a change, we all sat down to Sunday dinner to share in a meal filled with ShabuShabu soupy goodness and conversations of laughter and updates.

p.s. I've convinced my little sister, that it would be AWESOME if we could try out to be on Amazing Race, Season 20! (Because she has to turn 18 first...) Don't you think that'd be awesome? I could totally play an evil wench, and all interviews with little M would consist of her sitting there with her arms crossed, rolling her eyes and shaking her head. AWESOME. hahahaha
